About This Experience
This placement is a meaningful opportunity for experienced doctors, nurses, and medical students who want to use their skills to support local healthcare in Goa. Based on your experience level, you’ll be assigned a role within the hospital where you can contribute confidently while continuing to learn from the local medical team. English-speaking staff will be available throughout the program to support and guide you. When you arrive, you’ll receive an introduction to the hospital, its mission, and your responsibilities during the placement. During your first few days, you’ll shadow a local English-speaking doctor to understand the hospital workflow, patient care process, and daily operations. Once you feel comfortable, you’ll become part of the team with real responsibilities and hands-on involvement. Medical students will have the chance to closely observe and learn from local doctors throughout the program, gaining valuable insight into healthcare systems and medical practices in India.
Aims & Objectives
- This project aims to support the local community in Goa by helping provide the best possible medical care within the hospital’s available resources. One of the key goals is to improve healthcare access and contribute positively to the wellbeing of local residents.
- At the same time, the program gives participants the opportunity to experience international medical care firsthand, broaden their perspective on global healthcare systems, and gain deeper insight into medical practices across India.
