Help empower women in Kathmandu by teaching basic conversational English and sharing skills or subjects you’re passionate about. Connect with women from different generations, inspire confidence, and become part of a meaningful community-driven experience. You’ll volunteer at a learning center created for women—both young and elderly—who never had the chance to access education. Beyond the classroom, you’ll support fun activities, encourage self-growth, and create engaging lessons that help open new perspectives and opportunities.
This program is all about empowering women in Kathmandu who moved from rural communities and had little or no access to education. Many work as homemakers or housemaids, navigating daily life in a world where literacy and education can create greater independence and new possibilities. As a volunteer, you’ll help teach and mentor adult women while supporting their personal growth, confidence, and everyday life skills. More than just teaching, this is a cultural exchange where you’ll learn from each other, build genuine connections, and create a positive impact together. The schools involved in this initiative were founded to support women of all ages in becoming more confident, self-reliant, and active within their families and communities. Education here is more than knowledge—it’s a powerful step toward personal transformation and social change. You’ll have flexibility in how you teach, adapting lessons to match your students’ learning styles and comfort levels. Whether through structured lessons, conversation practice, games, storytelling, or hands-on activities, you’ll help students develop practical skills in English, mathematics, science, computer literacy, and more. The minimum commitment is two weeks, giving you enough time to build meaningful relationships, contribute to the community, and fully experience everyday life and culture in Nepal.
